Both domestic and foreign markets play a big role in the profitability of wheat producers. The South Dakota Wheat Commission uses many avenues to develop markets including:

• U.S. Wheat Associates working overseas to develop new opportunities while maintaining markets,
• Northern Crops Institute educating buyers and sellers about the quality of our crops,
• Wheat Foods Council working domestically to encourage consumers to eat more grains, and,
• Home Baking Association promoting home baking from scratch by providing educators tools and knowledge to perpetuate future generations of home bakers
